Our History
Beginning of Americas Sport Truck Craze
In 1983 a small company in Fresno, California had an idea to build the “best performing” lowering suspensions for the Chevrolet pickup. Fresno had been a haven for lowered vehicles and trucks were in abundance. Trucks were being lowered but their suspensions were terrible and not very roadworthy. Springs were either replaced with new ones not necessarily meant for the application and even worse they may be cut or heated with a torch at the local muffler shop to give the lowered stance that was cool. The stance looked good but the ride was terrible.

Belltech’s design staff had a better idea - Why not build a spindle where the wheels are higher but all of the rest of the front end geometry stays the same? In fact that’s just what they did and the drop spindle that launched the Sport truck craze in America was born.

To go along with the drop spindle the rest of the truck suspension needed to be addressed also. Shackle Hanger kits, Lowered Coil Springs and Flip kits soon followed. Keeping with the spirit of the “best performing” suspension the Belltech staff designed and created these components using superior materials and designs. The result made Belltech the most asked for and successful truck suspension brand in the industry.

Continuous Growth
Belltech Today
As the sport truck trend grew, more enthusiasts, from Ford and Dodge owners to import truck fans, wanted in on the signature Belltech look. This demand opened up a new market, and Belltech responded by expanding its suspension lineup to fit a wider range of makes and models, fueling steady company growth.
Lowering suspension introduced new challenges, particularly with shock performance. Stock shocks couldn’t handle the altered geometry, leading Belltech to develop the Nitro Drop line and, later, the advanced Nitro Active shocks with monotube technology for improved ride quality. We still offer our trusted Nitro Drop shocks and now also feature our Street Performance twin-tube shock line for even more ride customization and comfort.
In 2015, Belltech relocated to a state-of-the-art facility exceeding 75,000 sq. ft. in Clovis, California. The expanded space for R&D and engineering enabled us to accelerate product development across the board, including the launch of our off-road segment with lift and leveling kits, which applied Belltech’s precision and performance to lifted trucks.
With a broadened product range and a passion for innovation, Belltech continues to deliver cutting-edge suspension solutions for today’s most popular trucks and SUVs.
