Dodge RAM 185

In 2009, Dodge made a huge revision to the rear of its pickup trucks. Almost all models now have coil springs, along with a 5 link suspension set up. This worked out to our advantage and also saved the customer money on installation and parts. In return, we watched as the Dodge platform out sold every other platform and in 2012 it was our m ost successful kit to date. It’s a very exciting platform to be a part of, and has really extended the market which is sport trucks

The Dakota was Dodge’s answer to the small truck, or mini truck market. This was the first application Belltech created for the Dodge brand. With little to no bed clearance, we had to get creative with our development.

We ended with a state of the art hanger system that in simple t erms raises the leaf spring up the desired height. We also offer this solution to the R/T. Some of these trucks came with the massive 5.9 CI monster, that helped pave the way for the sport truck enthusiast.

The future of truck suspension is now. Belltech Sport Trucks recently developed a new suspension set up for late model Dodge, Ford, and GM. The new lowering kits include sway bars, lowering kit (where applicable) and four full-adjustable shock absorbers. Driving behavior can be individually adjusted to the drivers’ preference with dampers that are independently adjustable in rebound and compression.

Suspension technology in detail

The twintube shocks features the same adjustable damper technology that is used in the reknowned KW Variant 3 coilover shocks. Separate adjustability allows the driver to select a more stiff or more comfortable suspension setup on demand. 16 click adjustable rebound damping allows precise control of handling and driving comfort. By increasing rebound forces, the body movements are reduced. With the compression damping, adjustable in twelve clicks, the traction of the tires can be increased and the handling can further be influenced.

For our dampers, pre-configured high speed compression valves are also used, so when driving over large cross joints or speed bumps the bypass channels in the dampers are opened and the piston rod can immerse. In other words, the wheel deflects when driving over a bump and at high speeds, the tires do not lose ground traction. By using this blow-off-characteristics from the KW valves technology, driving becomes even safer.

In addition, the Belltech Sport Truck shocks give every customer the ability to lower their late model trucks to improve the sporty ride quality of the vehicle, we also suggest installing our rear sway bar when its available. Reduce body roll and increase stiffness by connecting the opposite wheels of a truck using a steel torsion spring (sway bar). The bar greatly improves road handling during rapid load changes and hard cornering by reducing the load difference between the inside and outside wheels during the corner so the handling also improves.
